Tired of waiting for Artomatic 419!? Well, in the meantime, there are plenty more fun and community-building arts events to participate in!

Throughout 2010, the Arts Commission will hold a handful of Artomatic 419! Mixers, a series of meet and greets and networking events held in anticipation of the 2011 event. Here, you can get to know other Artomatic 419! artists and volunteers, find out about the timeline for planning the event, and learn more about getting involved and joining planning committees.

The first Mixer will be held on Thursday, May 6 from 6 – 9 p.m. at The Attic on Adams (1701 Adams St.). This site was a meeting ground that was instrumental to the planning of the original Artomatic 419! back in 2006.

Artomatic 419!’s Live Work Create Toledo sister event, the Gallery Loop (formerly the Meet & Greet) held its spring event on Friday, April 16, 2010 in downtown Toledo, with two free bus loops visiting 15 galleries in and around the city’s core. The Gallery Loop takes place from 6 -10 p.m. Missed it? Save the date! - The fall Gallery Loop will take place on Friday, October 15, 2010.

Another Live Work Create Toledo program, the Thursday Arts Zone Art Walk series will take place again this summer as well. Each fourth Thursday of the month from May through September, art studios, galleries, and arts-related and arts-supportive businesses will open their doors from 6 – 9 p.m. for an evening of art, creativity, exercise, and community pride in downtown Toledo.  Come on a walk about and see what all the fuss is about! Event dates are May 27, June 24, July 22, August 26, and September 23.
